PC Bootstrap and x86 assembly

This lab is one used in operating system courses at major computer science departments including MIT, Stanford, and the University of Texas.  The write-up I am using is from Texas: CS372H Lab 1. Everything you need to know is in that lab.

 

Virtual machine with everything you need to do the lab

Erik Nosar created a Virtual Box Linux VM with all the necessary tools you need to do the lab. You can download the image at: http://eriknosar.com/share/School/405/CPSC405%20Project%204.ova

You can also use Rosemary.

 

Extra XP

I will give 100XP to the first person to create a Virtual Box virtual machine with the necessary tools to work on this lab. (qemu and the compiler tools necessary to compile the lab)
